The coach of the University of Akron men's basketball team has a 137-60 record for the Zips. His 2008-09 team won the Mid-American Conference Tournament to advance to the NCAA Tournament. He also has taken a team to the second round of the NIT. As a high school coach, Dambrot guided St. Vincent-St. Mary to a pair of state championships.

Was the first swimmer inducted to the University of Akron's hall of fame following a career in which he was UA's first swimming All-American and finished with eight school records. He was a four-year letterwinner and ranked in the Top 10 nationally in the 200-yard breaststroke for six years.

Won three Division III national championships with Mount Union with teams that finished those seasons with a record of 54-1. He was the Division III Player of the Year in 2001 and finished his career as MUC's all-time leading rusher. He scored a touchdown in an NCAA-record 25 consecutive games.

Akron in the mid-1950s. He was first-team All-Ohio Conference in 1956
and 1957 and was the 1956-57 UA Athlete of the Year. He was selected to
the school's hall of fame in 1977.

Was a scoring machine for the College of Wooster
Scots from 2002 to 2004, totaling a school- and North Coast Athletic
Conference-record 76 touchdowns. He also led Wooster and the NCAC in
career rushing (5,613 yards, still a school record). As a junior and
senior he led all of Division III in rushing yards, scoring per game and
all-purpose yards. He still holds numerous game, season and career
rushing and scoring records for the Scots.

Was a four-year letterwinner for the University of Tennessee women's basketball team. She played professionally in the WNBA and in Germany. In a second career, Ward became a championship boxer. She won 23 of 24 professional bouts 17 by knockout and retired as the belt holder in three sanctioning organizations.

Has been a volunteer coach and sports booster mainly for Springfield schools since the 1960s in virtually every sport: track, basketball, soccer, softball, football and baseball. He has helped finance the purchase of equipment and lessons for teams and individuals along with improving Springfield's athletic facilities.

Won bowling gold medals in the National Senior Games Association in 2003, 2005 and 2007. In her career she has rolled a 300 game five times. On nine other occasions she has finished with a 299. She has more than 40 series above 700 with a high of 782. She was a member of the Ladies PBA for 10 years.
